Seattle Catrinas Festival. Enjoy your Life and Embrace your Death.
For years, we have gathered in the heart of Seattle to celebrate the only truth we all share: that we are here for a moment, and that moment is magnificent.
The Seattle Catrinas Festival returns for its 5th Anniversary on October 31 and November 1, 2026.
We do not wear the face of the skull to frighten. We wear it to remember that beneath our skin, we are all the same.
To celebrate the Catrina is to accept that our time is limited and because it is limited, it is sacred.
Live with intention, feast, dance, and breathe in the scent of the marigolds.
Embrace the end, and honor those who have already crossed the bridge, knowing they are simply a few steps ahead of us.
A special tribute to five years of living fully in the presence of our ancestors honoring their legacy.
Eat the bread of the dead. Drink to the living. Paint your face in the colors of the day and the night.
The Catrina is not a shadow; she is a mirror.
We dress in our finest clothes, paint our faces with skull smiles, and dance under the sky because we understand that we are only here for a short time.
In this fifth year, we invite you to leave fear behind and join the feast of existence.
Come and walk among the altars. Bring photos of your deceased, mementos and your desire to enjoy and laugh.
Let’s celebrate that we are here today, that we feel today, and that when the time comes to leave, we will do so with our souls full of color.
Our “Unforgettable” show returns with dozens of living Catrinas and Catrines, “papel picado”, music, mariachi, Pepe and Frida our giants “mojigangas”, our monumental altar, memory wall, “loteria”, street market, folklore, handicraft, photography, art, culture, Catrinas and Catrines Gala and our impressive procession of over one hundred Catrinas and Catrines, all in one place: Town Hall Seattle.
